Media Evaluation Question 4: Who would be the audience for our media product?

My music magazine is called Bronx which has a genre of rap and hip-hop music. My magazine is aimed at young adults aged 16-34, and from my research and stereotypes, the ethnic group that are more likely to read and buy magazine are black people. The magazine is aimed at both males and females, however I think it would attract more of the male market because of the male model I used and the articles inside being based on males. My target market are most likely to be people finishing full time education (such as college) and adults who are in employment. This means that they may not have a large amount of disposable income, and due to that reason my magazine is fairly priced at £1.99. My target market are likely not to have a job or if they do it will be low skilled, meaning they will have low or no income. My target audience are likely to look like the following:

My younger readers, may own a bike like a moped/scooter and my older readers may own a car like a Vauxhall Astra or Volkswagen golf, because these are common features associated with my ideal reader. This means that they will be able to listen to music in their car on radio stations such as BBC radio one xtra and capital xtra. This will keep them up-to-date with new songs that are coming into the market. They are likely to have a smartphone in which they can listen to music, this way they can download music onto their phone. They may also use apps such as soundcloud and tidal where they can stream music. My target audience would be young adults and the unemployed therefore they will be at the bottom in band E of the JICNAR scale.

Due to a growing use of social media, majority of my audience could buy and read my magazine online. This is ideal for my magazine because my target audience are young people, and because its so easy to share pages, images and videos it will be good way to market and get new audiences.
